What gets measured, gets done
What sets the best HR departments apart? Carefully defined and regularly checked/communicated metrics, according to research firm Aberdeen.
Aberdeen recently assembled a report based on analysis of its research on HR metrics dating back to 2007. The report assembled responses from thousands of surveys to look at the differences between best-in-class, industry-average, and laggard companies and determine which metrics matter most. The report also sets out to determine how organizations calculate and communicate those metrics.
The report found that best-in-class companies were three times as likely as average performers to define metrics to measure HR process effectiveness.
We were pleased to see the report defined best-in-class companies by their success in three areas: low error rates in payroll processing, shortening HR service delivery cycle times, and decreasing the number of manual HR transactions per month.
All of those are areas where TALX can help, particularly service cycle times and manual HR transactions. Removing manual steps and delivering ROI – that's the lifeblood of our services.
We understand that measurable ROI is key, and our services provide tools to gather metrics. From detailed analysis of your unemployment claims to the electronic-only consent rate for your W-2 and pay reporting services, all TALX solutions put a rich data set at your fingertips.
